This year we attended the VW Budburg Festival at Oulton Park in Cheshire. We were there for two days with our camper vans for hire. It was great to meet all the lovely people that came by our stand to have a look at our campers and to discuss hiring them out in the future. We hope to hear from you all soon.

The festival itself was quite chilled. The weather was amazing. The week before the forecasters were saying that it was going to rain. As the week progressed this became just the Sunday which was forecast to rain. On the Saturday morning we set out early to set our stall out. We drove across from Altrincham through thick mist and fog which only cleared once we got close to the site. The rest of the day was glorious with plenty sunny spells. We were still being told by people we met during Saturday that on the Sunday that it was going to rain, amazingly Sunday turned out even warmer and sunnier than Saturday and both me and Kirstie went home with slightly red foreheads.

On Saturday at the festival there was race track action with quite a number of races going on around the circuit. Where we were situated we managed to witness a number of spin outs on what turns out to be a notorious corner on the circuit. This we learned from a couple of guys we got talking too who were Marshall’s on the circuit and were there to recruit new ones. We didn’t realise that you could be a Marshall from the age of 11.

The food stalls were set up in a village type arrangement near a stage were there was plenty live music through the day. We sampled various treats from the food vendors. The pizza produced out of the wood fired pizza oven was good and we also indulged in a chicken kebab which was also very good. Matthew who was with us on the Saturday said it was the best chicken kabab he’d ever eaten.

There were also plenty other trade stalls there selling motor sport related T-Shirts, bunting and other VW related items. Our friends from over at Bridgewater Campers were also there to show their range of vehicles.

Our next show will be at VWNW which is a one day show over in Tatton Park. If your in the area come over and say hello. Bridgewater Campers are also going to be there with us too.

There are many VW festivals throughout the UK, if you haven’t been to one give one a go. You can hire a VW camper from us for the weekend too as many of the shows / festivals also offer camp-outs. At the time of writing this we still have availability through the summer if you want to hire a camper for one of the VW festivals.
