There are already a number of low emission zones in place and also on the horizon in some of our biggest cities so it was only a matter of time before the first zero emission zone would be implemented in Britain.

The first ZEZ (zero emission zone) will launch in Oxford in February 2022.

The scheme means that polluting vehicles will be charged if driven in some city centre streets between 7am and 7pm, seven days a week.

The streets where this will be in place can be seen here.

Zero emission vehicles will not be charged to drive into this zone.

For motorhome and camper van hirers this new ZEZ should not cause too much of a problem as it would be unlikely that you would drive right into the city centre but rather make use of the park and ride facilities which surround Oxford city centre. The benefits here being that you can enjoy the centre of Oxford without having to endure the choking exhaust fumes from the traffic clogging up the roads.
