If you are thinking of visiting the UK and renting a motorhome or camper van did you know that from June 2020 you can fly direct from Halifax in Canada. The flight time is just five hours and will be the quickest route from North America to the UK.

With us being based close to Manchester Airport we can have you on your way within an hour of stepping out of the airport.

Flying into Manchester when hiring a camper van for a holiday allows you to get on the road and explore some great places with shorter driving times than if you had flown into airports in the south of the UK. Here we have listed some drive times from Manchester;

Scotland – you can be in the boarders in just over two hours. Edinburgh and Glasgow are just four hours away. Explore the historical castles, the magnificent coast line and of course the local delicacy which is Whisky (just wait until your safely parked up on a campsite before you open the bottle though).

Ireland – thinking of taking a trip to Ireland, hop on the ferry at Holyhead which is a two hour drive from Manchester. Enjoy the “craic” and the hospitality of this wondrously friendly Ireland. Dublin, Cork and Shannon are just some of the places you can visit and in the North you have Belfast, Derry and the Giants Causeway.

Wales – North Wales is an hour away and within four hours you can be down on the South of Wales. The Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia are just some of the stunning countryside on offer here.

Yorkshire / Peak District and Lake District – are all between 1 and 2 hour drives from Manchester. With bustling towns and cities, super countryside and traditional British pubs what more do you need to experience Britishness at its best. Yorkshire puddings, fish and chips, black puddings and oat cakes are all local favourites in this part of the country. All of which can be accompanied with a traditional British pint of beer.

Warwickshire / Oxfordshire – can be reached within 2 to 3 hours. Here you will find the home of Shakespeare and traditional British inns. Have a go at punting on the river in Oxford, try not to fall in as its harder than it looks. Pitch up here you can also jump on the train and be in central London within an hour.
